Terms and Conditions, Release of Liability, Acknowledgment of Risk, and Mandatory Arbitration Agreement

This document is critical as it contains the terms and conditions, releases EPIX Travels from liability and is automatically agreed to upon booking this trip.

Tour Description:

Journey through History and Harmony on the Mississippi: From New Orleans to Memphis aboard the American Heritage, September 16-25, 2024.

Tour Provider:

EPIX Travels.

Group Limit:

The tour is capped at 118 participants, including guests from Brandeis University.

Flight Information:

EPIX Travels disclaims any responsibility for cancellation fees related to non-refundable airfare booked in connection with this tour. The airline ticket itself will be the only agreement between the traveler and the airline. It’s advisable for travelers to consider either refundable tickets or insurance to cover airfare in case of changes or cancellation of the tour.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

A deposit of $1,000 per person is required, and upon payment, travelers are subject to the cancellation policy detailed herein. Cancellation requests must be made in writing and are not considered valid until received. The full payment is due by May 3, 2024, and can be made through check, wire transfer, or credit card. Deposits, minus a $250 administration fee per person, are refundable only if cancellation notice is received by May 2, 2024. Beyond this date, deposits become non-refundable. After the final payment date, all payments are non-refundable. No refunds will be issued for participants who do not complete the tour or for unused portions of the tour. EPIX Travels may cancel the tour or remove any participant at any time for the well-being of the tour group or individual, with a refund given for any unused tour portions.

Insurance Recommendation:

Travel insurance covering cancellations, medical emergencies, lost luggage, etc., is strongly recommended. Insurance purchase is at the participant’s discretion, and it’s important to understand the coverage details.

Itinerary and Cost Adjustments:

EPIX Travels reserves the right to modify the itinerary as necessary. Any additional costs incurred will be the participant’s responsibility. EPIX Travels may also impose additional charges due to unforeseen increases in fuel or port fees.

Privacy of Personal Information:

Participant information is confidential and shared only with necessary service providers, except for name, home city, and email which may be shared with other tour participants.

Accuracy and Changes:

While efforts are made to ensure accuracy, EPIX Travels is not liable for errors or changes in information provided.

Liability Disclaimer:

EPIX Travels is not liable for acts or omissions of third parties providing tour services or for independent contractors. This includes, but is not limited to, any injuries, losses, or damages arising from any aspect of the trip.

COVID-19 Awareness:

Participants assume all risks related to COVID-19 exposure and are responsible for any quarantine or medical expenses. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required.

Risk Acceptance:

Travel involves risks, including hazardous activities and the potential for injury, illness, or death. Participants accept and assume all such risks as part of the adventure.

Arbitration Agreement:

Any disputes will be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration in Connecticut, waiving the right to a jury trial.

Voluntary Participation:

Participation in the tour is voluntary, and participants acknowledge awareness of the tour’s risks and hazards.

Agreement Acknowledgment:

By participating, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions willingly.

Insurance Urging:

Acquiring comprehensive travel insurance for unforeseen events is highly recommended as EPIX Travels will not cover these costs.

Itinerary Flexibility:

The itinerary may be adjusted as necessary, with EPIX Travels ensuring any changes are made in the best interest of the tour’s safety and enjoyment.

Data Use Consent:

Participants agree to the use of their personal data for the purposes of managing the tour, with confidentiality maintained except as legally required.

Is domestic airfare included?
Domestic airfare is not included. However, we can assist in coordinating flights upon request.

When I arrive, will there be a group transfer?
Yes, there will be a group pickup at 12:45 PM from the airport. If you are arriving a day or two early, EPIX can arrange for a private transfer from the airport, please email us at info@epixtravels.com to arrange that.

What if I’m traveling solo?
Solo travelers are welcome! We can either match you with a same-gender roommate, or you can opt for a single supplement for an additional fee to secure a private room.

This trip seems quite expensive. What makes this trip special and unique?
This trip is special and unique because it is one of the best and most relaxing ways to discover the Mississippi River. To start, you’ll enjoy a custom Brandeis exclusive itinerary while in New Orleans. We’ll be visiting the famed National World War II Museum, embarking on a Jewish Heritage walking tour of the French Quarter, and enjoying a gourmet local restaurant experience. You’ll also be joined by Brandeis University faculty member Daniel Breen for the duration of the program where you’ll engage in Brandeis exclusive lectures and hear commentary from Professor Breen about your daily exploration.
Then once onboard the ship, you’ll be guided to your spacious staterooms, some of the largest rooms on any ships in the country. You’ll also be stress and hassle free as all meals, drinks (alcoholic/non-alcoholic), and snacks are included 24/7. You’ll enjoy unique excursions by day and custom locally inspired entertainment by night. You’ll have complimentary WiFi and all tips/gratuities are included.

What is the cancellation, discount, and deposit policy?
To hold your space on the program, we require a $1,000 per person deposit which will be applied to your final payment. The discount of $250 per person if booked by March 1, 2024, will also be applied to your final payment. In the event you need to cancel, all deposits are refundable minus a $250 per person administrative fee until May 2, 2024. After May 2, 204, all payments and deposits are non-refundable.

What is the weather like in September?
In September you can expect temperatures ranging from 72 – 88 degrees Fahrenheit. Most days should be sunny and comfortable, but there is a potential for some rain showers.

Should I get travel insurance?
