Description
Join Professors Zachary Lesser and Emily Steiner and fellow Penn Alumni for a nine-day London Theatre Seminar, pairing outstanding performances with expert-led discussion and rare behind-the-scenes access. You’ll be based in Bloomsbury, perfectly placed for London’s museum quarter and theatre district. This program is designed for people who want more than a ticket and a curtain call. Begin with an exclusive private reception and after-hours tour of the National Gallery, then go behind the curtain with a guided backstage tour at the National Theatre, capped by an evening performance. Walk London’s theatrical DNA from the Monument to the Great Fire of London to the Globe, with a private Globe Theatre tour, dinner, and performance that puts Shakespeare’s world back into physical context. Our week also includes a special exhibit visit at the British Museum and an afternoon at Temple Church. Along the way, you’ll attend five theatre performances total, with structured group discussions that sharpen what you see onstage and deepen what you take home.
